The Engine Room 2015 exhibition will showcase work by emerging sound artists from around the world and will also feature a specially commissioned piece by established sound artist Janek Schaefer.
Works have been selected from entries to The Engine Room International Sound Art Competition, which seeks to engage with emerging artists and to encourage and promote work within this field. During the exhibition, selected works will be judged by an expert panel including electroacoustic composer, Professor Simon Emmerson and established artists, composers and performers, Ray Lee and Mira Calex.
The Engine Room is a Morley College initiative which provides a platform for the exploration, education and promotion of sound art through annual events and projects, continuing Morley’s legacy as a leading centre for experimental music and sound art. This exhibition forms part of Morley College’s anniversary celebrations, which mark 125 years of providing high quality adult education.
Morley Gallery is a professional exhibition space open to the public. It runs a busy programme of exhibitions throughout the year showcasing a range of art forms.
