Marqués de Murrieta is inextricably linked to the origins of Rioja wines as Luciano Murrieta produced the first Rioja wine in 1852. Luciano, appointed Marquis by the King Amadeo of Savoy thanks to his work in Rioja, learnt winemaking techniques in Bordeaux that he later introduced in Spain. Simon Hadden, from Maisons Marques et Domaines, with his usual verve and enthusiasm is coming to tell you all about their spectacular wines.
Wines: Pazo Barrantes Albarino 2013, Marques de Murrieta Blanco Reserva ‘ Capellania’ 2010, Marques de Murrieta Tinto Reserva 2009, Marques de Murrieta Tinto Gran Reserva 2005, Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva 2005
