The Scorchers have an International line up and play original Jamaican ROCKSTEADY as well as their own tracks in this style.

They have also worked for many years in education and training at the highest level and run and work within the award winning music and arts charity The Beat Project which focuses on developing young people and communities.

We are passionate about supporting schools and music education together with helping children and young people learn about music, arts and culture from around the world through 'International Beat', a Beat Project initiative.

Our workshops, courses and projects include teaching young people in a fun interactive way about rocksteady, reggae, ska and world music and how it transforms, has influenced and affects today's music.

Young people gain the opportunity to play and create their own tunes, dance and experience what life is like in other cultures as well as learning about the musical history of countries such as Jamaica, Africa and India.

We hope to inspire, educate and motivate children and young people whilst providing them with interesting and exciting knowledge from around the world.
