Rosewood London has recently launched its weekly Slow Food & Living Market in the serenity of the hotel’s grand inner courtyard. Newly appointed Executive Chef, Amandine Chaignot, is at the helm of the Slow (Sustainable, Local, Organic and Wholesome) Food & Living Market, which recreates the traditional marketplace shopping experience in Holborn and celebrates good, clean and fair produce from local growers and artisans.

The weekly market, open every Sunday come rain or shine from 10.30am – 3pm is endorsed by Slow Food UK and is the only dedicated Slow Food & Living Market in London. The market features over 30 different Slow Food and Living merchants carefully selected for their exceptional quality.

The Slow Food & Living Market provides guests and London residents with a unique local shopping experience and place to meet with family, friends and neighbours. The aim of the market is to foster a sense of community and respect for each vendor’s history and individual story and to revive the traditional, vibrant marketplace culture where urban consumers are reconnected with rural farmers and artisans to celebrate bountiful and wholesome produce.

Rosewood London’s culinary offerings, Holborn Dining Room, Scarfes Bar and the Mirror Room, are offering special dishes and wines incorporating Slow ingredients. Slow Food refers to regional, fresh, in-season produce which has been thoughtfully harvested, using responsible growing practices taking into consideration people and planet. The fish is wild and responsibly caught, the meat is pasture-raised and the eggs and dairy are free of GMOs, hormones and antibiotics.

Rosewood London also transforms the Living Room, a private space on the ground floor of the hotel, into a children’s play area on Sundays in conjunction with the market. The play area is supervised by two child minders and there are many activities available including giant Jenga and Foosball. It is open from 11am until 4pm and all children from 3-12 years are welcome. There is limited capacity and parents must fill out a consent form before allowing their child to enter.
