Learn all you need to know about designing and creating handcrafted leather accessories all in a 2 day intensive leathercraft workshop.

Relive the tradition, share your knowledge, learn a new craft, meet new people and create your own unique leather accessoryas two designers will be on hand to carefully guide you through the process of taking a high quality piece of leather and transforming it into your own design. You will learn how to cut patterns, level, edge dye and treat, hand stitch, skive and rivet leather. All hand tooling processes will be covered. This is a great opportunity to learn from two very different but equally skilled leather accessories designers. take a step behind the scenes and see what it takes to create your own design.

All materials for the day will be provided, along with tea & coffee and light refreshments.

Course Outline:

Day 1: led by Melissa Tofton
11 - 6pm
Introduction to different kinds of leather & the process. Introduction to the basic leather craft tools and what you need to get started. Learn how to make a basic small leather accessory.

BELT/ DOG COLLAR / HANDCUFFS / HARNESS / YOUR OWN ACCESSORY DESIGN.

Day 2 :
led by Tamzin Lillywhite
11 - 6pm
Introduction to pattern cutting for leather accessories

Introduction to hand stitching leather.

Learn how to make a small purse/ bag /or continue with your own design from day 1.

Location: The workshop will be held in the designers' own studio,based within a renovated Warehouse unit in North London.
