This course offers an intensive introduction to the history of Western Art, and covers paintings, sculpture, architecture, and decorative art. Sessions concentrate on looking and understanding art. Lessons provide you with an overview of many of the most important movements in art, its key artists, and reference to its historical context.

We will cover the Early Renaissance up to Impressionism.

Run in small groups, they are friendly and fun and for anyone who likes going to museums every now and then, but isn't always quite sure what they are looking at!
For the price of a cinema ticket you can listen to experts in the field of Art History and learn something without feeling you are back in school. No homework, but lots of interesting things to learn, with handouts at the end of each sessions giving you art historical vocab, important names and dates, and suggestions for further reading or visits.
