Pick Me Up: Graphic Arts Festival 2016

Pick Me Up Graphic Arts Festival returns for its seventh year, featuring top emerging illustrators and designers as well as more established names in graphic arts.

Pick Me Up Selects showcases new work by international up and coming graphic artists and illustrators specially selected by an industry panel, and features a broad range of disciplines including illustration, animation and 3-D installations. In addition, a fresh selection of Collectives, Galleries and Studios will each create their own spaces and take up residency for the duration of the festival. At the heart of the festival will be a diverse programme of daily talks and workshops with artists, designers and illustrators.

For this year’s festival, London-based agency Hato is enlisting the public in a utopian vision of its own: a collaborative alphabet made by you. Use the digital tool to create a letter and you could see it feature in Pick Me Up 2016’s visual identity, from publications and signage around Somerset House to giant icons and patterns. With chic stripes or marshmallow-like curves, slick symmetry or abstract wobbles, the final alphabet will be as diverse as Pick Me Up’s huge community. Make a letter and join the fun.
