This vibrant 8-piece salsa band, formed by famed Colombian singer Martha Acosta, has been “salsa-ing” across the UK and Europe for over ten years now. Martha, best known for her work with her all woman Latin band “Candela” and Roberto Pla’s “Latin Ensemble”, drives the band along with her searing Latin vocals and powerhouse personality. And she is ably supported by some of the finest Latin musicians on the scene, including Musical Director Javier Fioramonti (bass), David Oliver (piano), Shanti Jayasinha (trumpet) and Davide Giovannini (drums).The music is classic Latin at its best, and it’s a rare gig that the audience isn’t up and dancing by the end. Expect to hear a selection of road-tested Afro-Cuban, salsa and boogaloo favourites as well as new songs from their latest CD, “Oye”, released last summer. Undoubtedly one of the best salsa bands working the scene today.
