Do you need to fundraise for a theatre project but feel unclear how to begin?

Would you like some practical guidance to set you on your way?

Tonic Theatre’s popular one-day workshop How to be a Fundraiser is back to help demystify the fundraising process. Focusing on effective techniques for raising cash for small-scale arts projects, this workshop is for anyone new to fundraising.

It’s run by Tonic Theatre, the team behind the book 100 Great Plays for Women (National Theatre Studio, Nick Hern Books) and the Advance programme (RSC, Young Vic, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Headlong, Almeida, Gate, English Touring Theatre, Pentabus, Tricycle, Sheffield Theatres, Chichester Festival Theatre).

Who’s it for?
Anyone taking their first steps into fundraising for their own work. Whether you’re an individual artist or working as part of a company, want to run a one-off event, or create a theatrical revolution – we’re here to help you formulate a plan with our workshop at the English Touring Theatre rehearsal rooms in Waterloo.

The £35 workshop will include:

Exploring the options open to you - arts funding, charitable trusts, individual donors, and crowd-funding
Getting started with application writing and budgeting - a toolkit on the basics
Knowing what funders want – how to better understand what they are looking for
Strategy – ensure your plans are sustainable, well-timed, and will enable you to make the work you really want.
