The lecture will be given by Sir Roy McNulty, Chairman of Gatwick Airport Limited.
Today, commercial aviation is a major feature, and indeed a major enabler, of the world economy – a position the industry has reached through the skills and efforts of the people who work in it or influence its development, and the industry’s success in dealing with enormous changes in its business and business environment during the past century.
This lecture will discuss some of the principal trends which have affected the industry in the UK over the past 40 years – technological, commercial, operational, environmental, regulatory and political. The speaker will illustrate these trends from his own experience in many different aspects of aviation.
