Song Academy

Westfield will host more than 30 finalists from the Song Academy Young Songwriter Competition as they battle it out to become the next chart topper on the Westfield Presents stage.

Throughout the day, visitors will be treated to live performances from creative young artists wanting to break into the music industry and tipped to be the next Ellie Goulding or Tom Odell.

Song Academy is a unique platform for creative and musical young people aged 7-18 to showcase their songwriting talents to industry professionals. The young songwriters are judged on their originality, lyrics and composition.

Following Song Academy, Tom Odell and record producer and DJ, Naughty Boy will judge the original compositions from each finalist with the winner professionally recording their single at the Sony recording studios in London.

Previous winners of Song Academy include Archie Faulks who has recently signed to a major record label and Orla O’Neil who is now writing with top English song writers.

The Westfield Presents programme gives up-and-coming independent talent as well as those from leading UK music and cultural organisations a unique opportunity to perform in front of large audiences at a variety of stages at Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City.
