Weighting by Extraordinary Bodies

Weighting is a large-scale free outdoor circus spectacle for all the family brought to you by the integrated circus company Extraordinary Bodies, a partnership between Cirque Bijou and Diverse City.

Combining circus, dance and theatre Weighting tells the story of an Extraordinary Family who make new discoveries in the face of love and loss. The show celebrates risk taking, transformation and asks when is it time to let go?

The cast includes seven extraordinary disabled and non-disabled performers who take to the air on a huge transformative set. They are accompanied by a five-piece band playing an original score and backed by a local community choir formed as part of an integrated participatory programme.

The creative team behind the show includes celebrated writer Hattie Naylor, circus director Billy Alwen of Cirque Bijou and theatre director Claire Hodgson of Diverse City and composers Dom Coyote and Ted Barnes.

Weighting aims to break perception barriers through excellent performance.
