Riverford Organics at The Duke of Cambridge is the UK’s first ever certified organic gastropub. For World Fair Trade Day, 9th May, 2015, the Duke is partnering with sustainable and Fair Trade fashion pioneers’ People Tree to host an event with a Fair Trade difference.
Kicking off the day at 10.30am until 11.30am, there will be a panel discussion with the UK’s leading experts in social business. The Duke’s founder Geetie Singh MBE, founder of Riverford Organics, Guy Watson, and the founder of People Tree, Safia Minney MBE, will be discussing what it really means to source a fair supply chain.
The audience will have the chance to sip Fair Trade hot beverages and taste specifically tailored Fair Trade mango and pineapple muffins as a treat preview before the gastropub launches its first ever Fair Trade focussed menu in celebration of World Fair Trade Day.
People Tree will transform the pub’s restaurant, from 10.30am – 4pm into a one day pop-up shop filled with sustainable and Fair Trade fashion.
