THE INAUGURAL BEER WEEKENDER COMES TO THE LAUNDRY BUILDING IN LONDON FIELDS

A brand new weekend festival of “Brews, Blues and BBQs” is coming to London this summer.

“The Beer Weekender” is taking over one of East London’s most exciting new spaces, The Laundry Building in London Fields, on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th July.

The entire venue is set to become a sanctuary for beer, music & food lovers over the weekend, with a mouthwatering combination of some of the UK’s most exciting craft beers, live blues and roots acts, and smoking BBQ treats.

The Beer Weekender offers a unique and adventurous voyage of discovery for beer-lovers. There’ll be a huge selection of craft beers attending the party, with many available on both cask and keg, offering true-blue beer enthusiasts the chance to really ‘taste the difference!’. Many of the brewers themselves will be on-site hosting “meet the brewer“ sessions, and chatting to attendees about the brews crafted by their own fair hands (3 tastings of which are included in the ticket price).

Festival revellers will also get to crown their ‘Master of the Craft’ in a ‘Peoples Pint’ competition where the weekend’s winning brew will be chosen by the beer lovers on site. With a range of beers from one man outfits in Yorkshire and micro-breweries just minutes from the venue, to the big boys at Brewdog, the competition is set to be a veritable David vs Goliath of the craft beer world.

Alongside all the exciting beers on offer (including Cloudwater’s yet to be brewed seasonal summer beer), visitors will find more unusual exhibits too, such as Westerham Brewery’s world class selection of gluten free beers suitable for coeliacs.

All of this will be set to a first-class live music soundtrack made up of some of the UK’s very best blues and roots artists – a line up as rich and varied, as it is credible.

Saturday sees much-lauded bluesman Son Of Dave take to the stage alongside the Best Emerging Blues act in Britain award-winner King Size Slim, whilst Sunday’s more laid back scene is over to Best British Blues Award winning guitarist Marcus Bouffant ,and Jools Holland favourites Big Boy Bloater & The Limits. More acts will be announced in due course.

And for Foodies, the Kitchen team from The Laundry, who are fast building a reputation as one of East London’s best eateries, will be fuelling up the BBQ and creating a menu of specially themed chargrilled treats to keep festival goers well fed.

This is a beer festival that’s as serious about its soundtrack as it is about its brews, set in one of London’s coolest new venues and right in the middle of summer. What’s not to like?
