Join us for an evening of music celebrating Morley's astonishing musical legacy across 125 years.

Featured will be work by two of Britain’s most distinguished senior living composers, Harrison Birtwistle and Hugh Wood both of whom taught at Morley College. An earlier generation will also be represented by Gustav Holst, one time Director of Music and his colleague Cecil Coles, who was tragically killed in the 1st World War. The centrepiece will be the Piano Concerto in A minor by Dora Bright. The orchestra and British pianist Samantha Ward, who gave the first performance of the piece in modern times in 2012, will perform the concerto again for this special concert.

Repertoire:
Hugh Wood Comus Quadrilles
Cecil Coles Cortege and Sorrowful Dance
Dora Bright Piano Concerto in A minor
Harrison Birtwistle Virelai
Holst A Song of the night op. 19 no. 1 & 2 Songs without words op. 22.
