Drummer/percussionist/singer Davide Giovannini has worked successfully in many genres of music since he moved to England from his native Italy, working with artists as diverse as Steve Winwood, Bjork, Snowboy, Da Lata and Russell Watson on projects covering R&B, Pop, AfroCuban, Brazilian, Jazz, House and Funk. Tonight he brings a project to the Club that celebrates the music of one of the most famous regions of Brazil, Minas Gerais –- renowned as the home of great artists such as Toninho Horta, Milton Nascimento and Beto Guedes and famous for its beautiful harmony and melodies. After Davide visited Brazil he was inspired to write music influenced by the musical heritage of this culturally rich area and it is a mix of his own, beautiful, original songs together with classic tunes from that region that the band will be playing tonight. The star-studded line up features Paul Booth (Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton) on sax, bass clarinet, flute and keyboard, Neil Angilley (War of the Worlds, Vanessa Mae) on piano, Davide Mantovani (Andy Sheppard) on bass and Guille Hill (Airto Moreira, Tom Jones) on guitars, so you know it’s just going to be a fantastic gig.

“High energy drum-led Brazilian jazz played here by a superb band featuring versatile sax/flute virtuoso Paul Booth and guitarist Guille Hill.” Time Out
