Exchange Theatre presents
The EIGHTH edition of BASTILLE THEATRE WEEK

Since 2006, Exchange Theatre is the only company to translate, promote and produce French speaking plays in London. We created the English premieres of plays my major French playwrights like Paul Claudel, Xavier Durringer (gone to Off Broadway in May 2011), the first translations of short one-act farces by Georges Feydeau (“Exchange Theatre has done a service making those plays available in English” ) and the creation of THE FLIES by Jean-Paul Sartre at Camden People’s Theatre (“Incredibly intense” The Scotsman). From 2010 to 2013, the company was resident at the Institut Français and explored three seasons of bilingual multimedia theatre for a young audience. Since then, we created ambitious doubles productions of French popular plays, (with one cast in french and one cast in English) like the British premiere of Un Air de famille in 2013 and 2014.
Exchange Theatre also runs the first amateur dramatics and classes for the French community and the budding actors present their work every year for several shows during our annual Bastille Week in July.
2015 marks the eigth edition ! With a strong imagery, multidsciplinary work, and multilingualism, Exchange Theatre offers a real sensorial experience. We work from our rehearsal space, The Trap, in London Bridge.
