New English Ballet Theatre is to bring its hugely popular programme of five new ballets by individual choreographers to Richmond Theatre on July 7th for one night only.

The Kreutzer Sonata and An Evening of New Ballets is performed by the company of 14 talented young dancers with music for two of the pieces being performed live onstage.

Tangents choreographed by former Dutch National Ballet dancer Daniela Cardim Fonteyne is set to Mussorgsky’s Pictures At An Exhibition performed by pianist Anne Lovett.

Orbital Motion choreographed by Valentino Zucchetti, soloist at the Royal Ballet, is a an engaging ensemble piece to music by Philip Glass.

Toca a dramatic duet is by Brazilian dancer Erico Montes.

Mad Women, Kristin McNally’s ‘funny, observant, sharp’ is a clever take on modern manners and the dating game.

The second half of the evening is The Kreutzer Sonata, as dramatic period ballet choreographed by the fast rising Andrew McNicol and based on Tolstoy’s tragic novella The Kreutzer Sonata. Music includes Janáček’s String Quartet No. 1 and Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 9 performed by violinist Andrew Harvey and pianist Anne Lovett.
