Promoters of daring underground live music Chaos Theory are curating the Northern Stage of Unsigned London Festival on a Saturday afternoon in sunny July.

And it's free! Just register for a free ticket at the link for a great two-day event celebrating local unsigned music.

Read below about our choices for the folk & jazz stage.

----------------
Phaze Theory

This quintet play wonderful jazz heavy on the ska and grooves. Fairly fresh on the London scene, they've still managed to get regular appearances at some renowned venues, including The Spice Of Life.

----------------
Patchwork Natives

Unusual fellows. Starting off as a folk band years ago, they have since then fused jazz disciplines with post-rock sounds and currently create thoroughly thoughtful but fun music. Here's a taste of what they sounded like at The Facemelter last July: http://youtu.be/pcViC2eJ1Vg

----------------
Yuri Kono

One of the most original and bizarre singers and songwriters we've heard since Kate Bush released 'The Kick Inside'. Which is a long time. This Japanese composer will perform her quirks on voice and piano. She blew everyone away with her performance supporting Leah Kardos during her 'Machines' album launch. Come and find out why.

----------------
Rob Shuttz

Solo bassist who has attached various raised wooden boards and contact mics to the body. He creates intricate bass loops, taps percussion on the boards and even sings into the contact mics. If you missed him at our 3rd Birthday Festival, catch him here! If you saw him at our 3rd Birthday Festival, you know to catch him again!

----------------
James Black

A poet and balladeer who we've seen silence audiences all over with his powerful delivery. Singing his own originals and versions of medieval Scottish ballads, James is a true joy to watch.
