For generations, jazz has offered musicians a unique way to express themselves in the face of oppression. In this concert celebrating freedom of speech (and song), James Pearson, pianist extraordinaire, will be exploring new takes on songs that gave a host of jazz legends the means to do just that. Featuring special guest singer Natalie Williams, this evening will take you through powerful songs through the ages.
This concert is the first in a new 3-part series exploring the power of jazz to tell stories, share feelings, and get the good times going. James is set to get the joint jumping with three intimate concerts celebrating classics from the Great American Songbook, all with his own unique twist and with some special guests.
