Africa Diaspora and Development Day (AD3) 2015. In partnership with Centre of African Studies (SOAS), this year’s AD3 is on the theme of the role of the diaspora in African Humanitarian disasters and the implications for policy.

In the wake of the Ebola crisis in West Africa, and the continuing humanitarian disasters, whether caused by conflicts, environmental degradation or other natural disasters, this event is seeking to understand the actions that diaspora take in response, and the implications for policymakers and other actors within the conventional humanitarian system.

AD3 2015 will bring together individuals and stakeholders working in the area of humanitarian disasters and relief. This is an opportunity to discover new insights as experts come together for discussion and debate on topics including:

~Improving understanding of diaspora humanitarian actions and challenges
~Strategies for building diaspora capacity and strengthening diaspora actions
~Strategies for improving co-ordination with coordination with humanitarian agencies
~Linking humanitarian actions to wider development issues
