Postcards from Aldgate East

In May and June 2015, group of East End residents ventured out together, cameras in hand. Our mission was to photograph the street life, architecture and cultural landmarks of the Aldgate East neighbourhood.

'Postcards from Aldgate East' brings together some remarkable images captured during our walks: portraits of shopkeepers and stallholders, glimpses of local life, and behind-the-scenes views of heritage landmarks. Alongside the exhibition many of our photos have also been woven into a short film, tracing a walk around the area. However well you know Aldgate East, you're sure to see it afresh.
