Emerald Street Brunch with KERB at Lewis Cubitt Square, King’s Cross on
Saturday 18th July 2015.

With smoked mackerel? Baked into spiced tomatoes? Covered in a classic hollandaise with something fizzy on the side? We’ve noticed more and more invitations to catch up with friends on Saturday morning, not Saturday night. Brunch is having a moment, so we thought we’d throw a brunch party. A really big one that everyone can come to. So we teamed up with street food experts KERB, started looking at people who roast coffee and people who know their bacon and asked Camden Council if we could borrow a bit of King’s Cross for a day.

Three bars on site will be serving a selection of cocktails, London's best craft beers, and soft drinks from the likes of Square Root Soda Shack throughout the day, whilst street food vendors - both established and new - will be serving up tasty brunch dishes. Here are just some food heroes to expect:

- Stax is the realisation of the long-held ambition of Virginia-born chef Bea Vo (of London’s celebrated cake shop and tearoom Bea’s of Bloomsbury), to set up her very own pancake stall. Try her traditional fluffy American Brunch Pancakes.

- Crabbieshack are known for their delicious soft shell crab burgers and will be sticking to what they know best with a Hythe Bay Brown Crab Breakfast Roll with Anise Butter.

- What The Dickens! focuses on the vintage and traditional – try their brilliant Kedgeree, Black Pudding & Scallop
Roll, or Eggs Reliance.

- 26 Grains celebrates a variety of different grains and creates delicious and exciting dishes with them. For a healthier option, try the Roasted Plums, Coconut Yogurt & Pistachio Porridge, or the Coconut, Blueberry & Banana Smoothie Bowl topped with Cardamom Granola, Coconut Flakes, & Raspberries.

- Kimchinary, the infamous Korean Taco and Burritos stall, will be serving up their version of a classic Korean Breakfast Borrito.

- Capish? are famed for their brunch inspired dishes. Try their Breakfast Balls - pork, fennel and sage meatballs with bloody mary beans and olive oil toast - or Grits ‘cacio e pepe’ - grits roman style with pecorino and heaps of black pepper.

- Le Swine makes each delicious component of their Bacon Butties, including their ‘own recipe’ toasted milk & onion bap, bacon butter, swinez tomato sauce and mushroom ketchup. Don’t forget to add a fried duck egg!

Special events on the day will include an egg drop competition where contestants will be invited to create a device that can keep a raw egg intact when dropped from a large crane – all winners receive a free drink, and will be entered into a draw to win a night for two people at The Hoxton Shoreditch.

Other attractions will include free workshops from craft experts The Makery, complimentary temporary tattoos from Rosie Wonders, and a RUSH Braid Bar offering free braiding throughout the day. Also watch this space for an exclusive Good Egg vs. Bad Egg cook off!

Tickets will be available from Billetto, at £12 and include glass of Freixenet and an Aperol Spritz. Group saver tickets will be purchasable for £100 for 10 people.
