The words horizon, ground, within, climb and height will provide frames for this investigative workshop. Participants will be drawn into a heightened awareness of their sensing, thinking body in movement, allowing them to explore their relationship with Katrín Sigurðardóttir's installation, in a way that integrates rather than prioritises 'sight'. Open scores for movement will be followed, but also devised by participants. These will focus upon sensing the changing dynamic between space, body and form. Drawing as a reflective body/mind practice will be a central part of the workshop. The session will conclude with a chance to discuss the role of the frames in this guided engagement with Supra Terram.
This event is held in partnership with Moving Architecture.

BIO
Architecture & Choreography, a Collaborative Practice: over the last twenty-five years, collaboration between Caroline Salem (choreographer and founder of Space@Clarence Mews, which provides space and creative support for performance makers) and Ed Frith (director of Moving Architecture and course leader for the MArch at Art University Bournemouth) has led to the creation of both performances and buildings. From public spaces in New York; theatres in Spain, their house and studio, installations and buildings in the UK and China, their disciplines have combined to provide a common ground for practice. They have recently been reviewing their work, and resulting from reflective presentations in conferences in Finland and the UK, have unearthed five concerns, which run through their work: horizon, ground, within, climb and height, which provide a series of somatic frames through which past work has been questioned and which they are now taking, more consciously, into new work.
