The Funny Side of Hammersmith is an upmarket yet friendly alternative to the usual London comedy experience. Exciting bills; mixing top UK acts with the very best of visiting international talent in a truly great atmosphere.

The venue is hosted at 'The Crabtree' an iconic Victorian pub situated on a fine stretch of the Thames riverbank between Hammersmith & Putney bridges.

This Saturday's show is an Edinburgh Festival Preview Special featuring full length shows from Nick Doody and Sean McLoughlin

Nick Doody - "T'ai Po"

This is an awful title. I mean, it's funny for a moment, then you think: wait, so he said, ‘typo’, and someone wrote it down wrong? That makes no sense. You've had good titles before...

'Before He Kills Again' ***** (Scotsman)
'Hypocrite' ***** (Chortle.co.uk)
'Look at This Massive Picture of My Face' ***** (ThreeWeeks)

...but this doesn't work. Wait, are you putting this in the blurb? What is wrong with you?

Sean McLoughlin - "Whatever It Takes"

After finally clawing his career out of the toilet and towards the stars, Sean McLoughlin should be at his happiest, right? Unfortunately this long-awaited improvement in career has coincided with an astonishing collapse in his personal life (floods, divorce, cats etc). Sean has beaten the system and yet finds himself at the mercy of it.

From these two conflicting circumstances a question has emerged: Can a man rise AND fall at the same time? The bastards may be pulling him apart but Sean McLoughlin is back with his sharpest and most hilarious stand-up yet. Hold onto your hats, this one could be spectacular.

Following his hit debut, 'Backbone' (named one of the top 5 free shows of 2013 Fringe by The List), Sean’s second show 'I Will Prevail' was met with tremendous underground success at the Edinburgh Festival. Playing to packed houses and gaining critical acclaim, culminating in a nomination by fellow comedians for the 'Best Performer' Barry Award, and the show has since been performed throughout London and across the UK.
