The decade of shoulder pads, big hair and leg warmers is back this summer as two West London institutions, the iconic Bluebird Restaurant and 1980s-inspired nightclub Maggie’s, team up to create a totally ‘80s Summer in Chelsea. The team behind the Thatcher-era themed club will be hosting the ultimate retro pop-up bar complete with Rubick’s cube tables, bean bag chairs, ‘80s arcade games, and a ping pong table, perfect for tournaments on balmy summer evenings.

Collaborating with their Chelsea neighbours, Bluebird, for the first time, the Maggie’s pop-up bar will be open Mondays to Saturdays from the of 28th July to August Bank Holiday weekend in Bluebird’s lush courtyard, the ideal location for guests to enjoy cocktails al fresco.

The Maggie’s bar team will be serving up Ciroc-based cocktails alongside Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial NV and Asahi Super Dry Lager beer, whilst decked out in Maggie’s signature visors and bright neons as a tribute to the era. Handcrafted signature cocktails will include: Smack Daddy, a punchy blend of Ciroc, Galliano, passion fruit juice and purée, vanilla syrup, topped with Moet et Chandon Brut Impérial NV; Purple Rain, a clear winner made with Tanqueray No. TEN, elderflower, blackberries, apple juice, and lime juice, topped with Moet & Chandon Brut Impérial NV; and, the tipple of the summer, the much loved Maggie’s Mug, made with Ciroc, Chambord, fresh lime juice, vanilla syrup and blackberry, topped up with soda water.

Sourcing ingredients from local farmers and sustainable producers, the talented Bluebird culinary team will be creating ‘80s style canapés, whilst the Maggie’s DJs get guests into the groove with the greatest hits from the decade. Patrons will also be able to continue all of the ‘80s action into the night, with legendary retro parties held at Maggie’s throughout the month of August.

Settle back, relax and enjoy a totally ‘80s Summer in Chelsea.

Maggie’s is named after 1980s Prime-Minister-turned-icon Maggie Thatcher, club-goers can hear her famous speeches playing in the loos, while Thatcher memorabilia vies for space on the walls along with other iconic 80s images and paraphernalia. The music is a mixture of classics from the 1980s and modern pop, with cocktails ranging from Pina Coladas and Daiquiris to Babycham.
