Join us as we celebrate some of the greatest compositional voices to have passed through the RCM over the last 80 years. Mark-Anthony Turnage wrote his raw and emotion-filled cello concerto in memory of cellist Kai Scheffler. Tonight, the RCM New Perspectives ensemble will perform it alongside the world premiere of William Mival’s Correntandamente and Simon Holt’s Sparrow Night. But it’s not just RCM professors who are celebrated in this unmissable concert. Benjamin Britten wrote his opus 1 whilst studying at the College and current RCM composer Bertram Wee, whose work has been performed at this year’s BBC Proms, sees his new work receive its premiere.
