Queen of Hoxton's year-round rooftop is to be transformed into Smokin' Graciela's Rooftop Bar from May through to September, paying homage to the infamous cigar-smoking Cuban diva, 80-year old Graciela. Trapped in a time warp, Graciela oozes Cuban charm, ideal for Queen of Hoxton's latest incarnation embodying Havana's faded glamour.

Suspended in the '50s, the rich culture and colours of Cuba feature throughout the rooftop, immersing you into a world of rum, romance and relaxation, prying you away from London's chaos into a small corner of vibrant Havana. While away the hours playing Cuba's favourite pastime dominoes, listen out for Cuban storytellers, or simply grab some shade under the favela on a balmy summer's night.

THE WORKSHOP:

Screen printing is a versatile process that allows you to experiment with exciting and expressive techniques such as creating your own stencils to print with.

In this hands on class you will be shown practical ways to implement your ideas. We will be exploring the building of colour onto sample prints and pushing boundaries within your designs.

We will be taking inspiration from the iconic Cuban posters and turning these into prints.

This workshop is aimed at beginners through to experienced printers.

Nicole will guide you though each process, resulting in a final print onto a bag or item of clothing.

Please arrive at the venure for 12.15 and ready to start the workshop by 12.30.
