House of Vans London 1st Birthday

To celebrate one glorious year since House of Vans London first opened it’s doors to the public, Vans have created a weekend filled with activity for the whole Vans family.

Sunset Sons will launch into the celebrations on Thursday 6th from 8pm, bringing their brand of sun-soaked pop-rock anthems inspired by surfing culture to the House of Vans stage. Puma Rosa plus special guest yet to be announced will also join in the revelries. The gig is FREE to the public and tickets will be available via houseofvanslondon.com // queue app on Monday 27th July.

In addition to Thursday nights opening gig, Saturday and Sunday are Family Weekend and the house will be open as usual to all with workshops, giveaways and a Skate School running from 10am to 12pm Saturday and 12pm to 2pm Sunday. The House of Vans gallery will host pop up photo exhibition House of Vans London: What We Did Last Summer, a photographic journey celebrating the architectural transformation of the Waterloo Railway Arches. The pop-up exhibit features never seen before images from the venue under works and how it’s been transformed with original sketches, renders and exclusive ‘before & after’ images. Exclusive behind the scenes images from the biggest events over the last year as well as signed event posters and memorabilia from the likes of Imagine Dragons, Foo Fighters and Julian Casablancas will also be on display.

In the cinema room, visitors can enjoy the 1984 Cinema Club curated by House of Vans local, Diego Fernandez. The Colombian born film-maker has hand-picked two days worth of fantastic films to be screened over Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 10pm. On Sunday the cinema will host Vintage Sunday screening classic films back on the big screen where they belong.

The House of Vans Labs are also brimming with activity throughout the birthday weekend with dub cutting workshops, a braid bar and a t-shirt making workshop. As always the skate park will be in full flow with an open skate session and access to the bowl, mini ramp and street course.
