Free street food festival opening as world’s first travel (by taste) agent to celebrate the growing role of food in holidays

Opening soon is TravelSupermarket’s International Street Food Challenge, a unique event to help people choose which holiday destination to go to next. The free event takes place on Thursday 13th August in the heart of London’s bustling street food scene – and will be the world’s first travel (by taste) agent. Leading street food vendors from popular holiday destinations including Italy and Sri Lanka will go head to head to be crowned the winner of the inaugural award.

The International Street Food Challenge has been launched after research showed that a quarter of Brits (25 per cent) admitted that they have booked a holiday purely because they wanted to try the food of the destination.

• How much does it cost: People will be able to download their free ticket at www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/street-food/. This will give them access to the event and samples from each of the vendors. There will be a paying bar. Tickets will go on a first come, first serve basis
