Free Exhibition - Mervyn Peake Awards

Parkinson's UK celebrates the creative talents of people with Parkinson’s with its Mervyn Peake Awards – an annual event established in memory of the much-admired artist and writer who had Parkinson’s. For the first time this year the charity is making the work submitted to the Awards available to public view in Putney, south-west London. The exhibitions will run from 4-24 August, and will feature the vast majority of the 306 entries submitted by the 214 entrants. Most of the art and photography will be displayed at Putney Arts Theatre (Ravenna Road), while Putney Library (at 5 Disraeli Road) will display the poems, books and most of the themed multi-media entries. Parkinson’s UK hopes that people will be uplifted and inspired by the diversity and richness of the work on display, and that they will also learn more about what living with Parkinson’s is like.
