Lydian Collective

Lydian Collective is an exciting four-piece instrumental group formed by composer/producer Aaron Wheeler (aka "Laszlo") and fellow producer and guitarist Todd Baker. Aaron himself has had a successful career as one of the UK's most prolific media composers. Having written over 750 tracks for EMI Publishing, in 2010 he set up his own Lydian Label on which he has released material as "Laszlo" as well as Musicbox (in collaboration with Todd Baker). Todd Baker (guitars and mandolin), a co-founder of the Lydian projects, has worked as a composer and audio designer in the games and media industries for some years, including BAFTA-award-winning projects “Little Big Planet” and “Tearaway”. As a guitarist, artist and producer he has worked on radio plays on both BBC Radios 1 and 3. Described by them as "blissfully different" (not quite sure what that means but certainly sounds interesting!) their refreshing brand of original fusion-based music featured in the Lydian Collective is rich in harmony and groove, showcasing the diversity and depth of their compositional skills and musicianship. The group's sound can best be described as blending electronica, dance, jazz, world, folk and classical into a fascinating and highly musical whole. Making up the other half of the Collective are two highly impressive upcoming musicians, Ida Hollis on bass and 606 Club regular the wonderful Sophie Alloway on drums. This is really interesting music performed by some of the most talented musicians in their field and definitely worth checking out.
