Music of War

The Spirituoso String Quartet of London present Twentieth century masterpieces which draw on and reflect the suffering of wartime. Featuring works by Steve Reich, Samuel Barber and Arvo Pärt, as well as Shostakovich's famous String Quartet No. 8 in C minor. Remembering such events as the bombings of Dresden and London, and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this promises to be a poignant and hugely moving performance.
