'Gorgeous, gorgeous music' - Bob Harris BBC Radio 2
'A Tour de force for Independent Music' - Music Week
'What a voice!' - Clare Balding BBC Radio 2
'Gypsy -Jazz , Blues and Gospel...with boots' - Venue

BBC Radio 2’s Johnnie Walker, Bob Harris, Tom Robinson and Clare Balding are all huge fans. She’s recorded with Massive Attack guitarist Angelo Bruschini, the Richard Hawley Band and Mercury nominated Producer Colin Elliott. She’s won BEST ALBUM at the ‘Independent Music Awards’ as well as ‘UK SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR’ and now she’s penning music for a feature length gypsy-styled animation, ‘Mr Claus’.

Jane Taylor has a phenomenal voice that expresses in more colours than a Van Gough. She is a tour-de-force for Independent music, pre selling her first album ‘Montpelier’, back in the 2006 to her loyal fans, when the idea had yet to catch on. Johnnie Walker played the opening track ‘Fall On Me’ because he liked the look of the cover (a doodle by Jane). The response was unprecedented for an unknown artist (hundreds of her fans and new listeners relentlessly requested ‘more’). She was then invited in to perform a live session on BBC Radio 2’s Drive Time Show. The track got played over 20 times, despite it not actually being on the Radio 2 playlist (something which has yet to happen again.) ‘Fall on Me’ made it on to a popular American series on MTV and along with the radio 2 play Jane’s fan base was born, stretching across the UK and into the States.

Deciding to keep that ‘grass roots’ authentic feel to her music, she continued to remain Independent, supported only by her fans. Together they raised over £60,000 to help her record, promote and tour her albums. It’s why BBC Introducing recently invited her to record a special session at Maida Vale and celebrated her work so far.

Her London gig will kick off the bands UK Tour. Jane will be joined by the sultry, bluesy genius of Lizz Lispcombe on violin as well as multi instrumentalist and Producer Rob Bray on percussion, Uke and Bass.

Jane Taylor is one of the most inspiring and gifted song writers of her generation. Come and see why…
