XVIII Qkings

Zamil Ibn Zubair’s first Exhibition 18 QKings opens at 6pm on 18th August 2015 at the Underdog Art Gallery, 6 Crucifix Lane, London SE1 3JW - the show will run through to 26th August 2015.

His first exhibition is called XVIII QKings. Featuring 18 dynamic, vibrant and kaleidoscopic pieces, he shows the power of colour and shape as a storyteller. Each piece is open to interpretation and expresses a mood, or perhaps rather, the struggle we often have with them.

For him, his journey started 18 years ago with a move to India, from there he has travelled his way across Asia, taking in the inspiration each place offered, absorbing the colour, smells, taste but more poignantly the setbacks and disappointments.

He then spent 18 months bringing his 18 QKings to life and on the 18th hour of 18th August 2015, Zamil will present his 18 QKings to London, a city that fosters his passion and talent.

Each piece is bold and holds something captivating and deserving of a better look. Within each glance there is something new to see, understand and feel. Zamil has captured the duality of emotions that often lead to various moods with great understanding and sensitivity.

18 days to organise an exhibition may be crazy but it’s a testament to Zamil’s personality and spirit. Anything is achievable with a little faith.
