With National Rum Day on August 16th, Morant Bay Distillery's award winning spiced
red rum, is August/September rum of the month at Rum and Sugar in East London.

The staff have created 6 unique cocktails all exclusively available at Rum and Sugar
throughout August/September, designed and refined to showcase the mixing ability of this unique spiced red rum.

The cocktails cover a range of flavours and taste profiles, from sweet, sour to fruity or you can opt to have the rum straight or over ice.

This particular rum is unusual as it both British and Jamaican, due to the fact that it's produced in Britain, but is rooted in the Jamaican sugar industry and history of the founder and creator Peter Townsend, whose family connections goes back several generations.

The rum falls into the spiced category but is distinct in that it is not a dark, gold or white rum but red instead, as a result of the botanicals used to impart flavour and colour.

Morant Bay Distillery proves that rum doesn't have to fall into the traditional
colour options by adding its own take on rum for the 21st century.
