Eleven days of eclectic entertainment, comedy, circus, crafts, music and more.

A fabulous festival of fun returns to Canary Wharf this September, with a packed schedule for adults, children and families. This year Spiegeltent Canary Wharf will be located at Canada Square Park and will host a programme of comedy, music, dance, cabaret, acrobatics, theatre and so much more.

For the adults the entertainment is award winning – Las Vegas veteran Peggy Sued will open the festival with a one-night-stand of variety starring Pete Firman, Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer and Rod Laver. Comedy will be provided by some of Britain’s finest, and most hilarious, acts. Alex Horne and The Horne Section returns to the Canary Wharf Spiegeltent with a brand new barnstorming show. Scotland’s internationally acclaimed and award-winning ‘half-man-half-Xbox’ Daniel Sloss brings his smash-hit new show Dark direct from the Edinburgh Festival. The improvisation comedy champions BattleActs! perform their hilarious, no-holds-barred comedy combat and the psychic siblings The Twins Macabre will conjure souls of the damned through twisted sketches and songs in their dark, nerve-jangling character-comedy rampage.

Aircraft Circus also returns with their spectacular, awe-inspiring acrobatic show, Boudoir Circus. The BBC Folk Club winners The Nest Collective present three folk music gigs: Nepalese band ‘Night’ play traditional Nepali instruments to create their new-school folk; the unique blend of circus swing and burlesque folk of Gabby Young + Other Animals plus the Nest Collective House Ceilidh Band; and, finally, the acclaimed impressionist, art-folk ensemble Firefly Burning with support from multi-instrumental trio Three Cane Whale. The London Academy of Dance will be offering dance lessons for beginners, while creative workshops take the form of scrapbooking with Shimelle and expert gingerbread icing with Serena Montesissa, as part of the Play Me I’m Yours Piano project.

Daytime is playtime with a fantastic selection of activities for children and families. Returning to Spiegeltent Canary Wharf are Big Fish Little Fish and their Family Rave, providing a creative, exciting music and dance party for the post-rave generation of parents and kids, and Comedy Club 4 Kids who present family-friendly comedy from the best stand-ups and sketch acts including Luke Toulson, Bec Hill and Howard Read.

Meanwhile, new for families and children is the interactive theatre experience of Ready Steady Colour, children’s cabaret and comedy from Huggers Family Cabaret, the critically acclaimed classical concert series for babies and toddlers Bach to Baby and the storytelling, musical puppetry of Theatre of Widdershins performing The Elves and The Shoemaker.

Musical workshops are provided by Boppin Bunnies, who will take children on a musical adventure with real instruments and live music performances, and acclaimed singer/songwriter ESKA who will lead a lively sing-a-long and improvising child-friendly workshop Eska’s Family Sing Song.

With the Spiegeltent Bar providing refreshments inside the venue and more than 300 bars, shops and restaurants on the Estate there is plenty of choice for refuelling throughout the events.
