Spark Your City

Monday 22nd June saw the exciting debut of Spark Your City, a new global movement, made possible by Kipling. This movement is committed to bringing fleeting and extraordinary moments of joy in to everyday and often mundane city environments. Each activity is inspired and hosted by a woman whose public and creative profile has been harnessed to create an unforgettable and infectious message of happiness.

The launch kicked off with Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney and an extremely colourful London Bridge takeover. Now the next spark is ready to ignite!

On Thursday 27th August the second Spark Your City will be uncovered with the energetic and playful television presenter Helen Skelton. Best known for her adventurous spirit and passion for trying something out of the ordinary, she will create an urban jungle through a larger than life interactive kaleidoscope of images, shapes and colour. This bold burst of ever changing images and colours will truly brighten the London landmark of Sutton Walk (Southbank). The grey interior of Sutton Walk will be transformed in to a massive playground of exploration, bringing fun and happiness to those that want to interact with it.

Helen is a true believer that an adventure can be found anywhere, anytime. For adults commuting to or from work, families having a day trip or tourists visiting London, people walking through Sutton Walk on 27th August will be amazed and intrigued by the adventure all around them. They, will not be able to help but look up, to take a moment to pause in their stride and be mesmerised by the tunnel of excitement!
