Wales vs Australia Rugby World Cup Screening

This September we'll be dusting off the big screens in the upstairs bar for first time since that depressing night in May when half the country went mad and inflicted another 5 years of misery on us all.

As many of you will surely know or nervously suspect, the Social has long had strong Welsh roots (well, one of us is Welsh and the Super Furries played downstairs in 2001). Recently, we've made a point of always stocking beers from the mighty Tiny Rebel Brewery in Newport on the bar (one of the range we always carry - their red ale, Cwtch - was recently awarded Champion Beer of Britain at the Great British Beer Festival). Basically, a night in the upstairs bar is pretty much exactly the same as a heavy old session in Cardiff. So it was obvious that we’d be coming out in support of the boyos in Red when they storm out to chuck the egg about in a field.

We hope you'll join us for the final group game of Wales' World Cup, as well as the other games of lesser rugby playing nations (England, New Zealand, Ireland etc).
Each night will no doubt involve the full spectrum of emotions, a Taff friendly playlist on the jukebox, the odd guest DJ and some great Welsh beers.
