Leading artists including Tacita Dean, Mark Wallinger, Eva Rothschild, Chantal Joffe and Anya Gallaccio, among others, will stage a major fundraising exhibition for Delfina Foundation this October. They represent a generation of artists who launched their careers with the help of Delfina’s studio spaces and residency programmes.
Curated by Joffe and curator-critic Sacha Craddock, the exhibition will run from 9 October to 14 November, coinciding with Frieze Art Fair, at the Foundation’s central London space. The artworks will be for sale, with the proceeds supporting the next generation of artists.
The exhibition launches with a series of events and artist-talks focusing on global trends and transitions that have taken place since Delfina Studio Trust was established 30 years ago.
Founded by Delfina Entrecanles CBE, Delfina Studio Trust is renowned for nurturing the stars of today’s art world. As a registered charity, it provided studio space and related facilities for artists at a crucial time in the development of the British art scene. Delfina Foundation, created in 2007, was established as its successor, and is now London’s largest provider of international residencies, offering an opportunity for artists, curators and writers to develop their practice and international networks. More than a dozen Turner Prize nominees are counted in Delfina’s alumni as well as 19 artists who participated in exhibitions at the 56th Venice Biennale, including the Golden Lion-winning Pavilion of Armenia.
