George Boomsma/Kieran Towers/The Hot Rock Pilgrims

Take a walk down roots alley with Hubert Murray alongside some of the best bluegrass, folk and blues acts in London. This September he is presenting Singer songwriter George Boomsma, OldTime Fiddler Kieran Towers and The Hot Rock Pilgrims.

George's effortless singing and sensitive guitar playing evoke an intimate atmosphere that silences even the rowdiest of crowds. He won the Matt & Phred's singer / songwriter competition 2014 in Manchester and was chosen for long list in 'Glastonbury Festival's 2014 Emerging Talent Competition'. He regularly gigs all around the North and has been played on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and has done live sessions for BBC Tees and BBC York. Despite being from the Lake District, Kieran's fiddle playing is grounded in the Appalachian mountains. He is the most recent winner of the foaotmad old time fiddle competition and has performed alongside Bruce Molsky, Brittany Haas and Rayna Gellert.

The Hot Rock Pilgrims are an old-time/bluegrass supergroup featuring some of the most exciting young pickers in South East England. Together they will take you on a high-energy pilgrimage of Appalachian music and its descendants.
