Photography Course for Beginners covers the following topics:

- Introduction to photography for beginners.
- Light – what is the role and the impact of light in photography and how important is light when taking a photograph.
- Cameras – different types of cameras explained in depth: DSLR, compact, bridge and other cameras.
- Lenses – focal length explained in depth and use of lenses – what lenses do you you need for each type of photography.
- Focus – how focus systems work – different types of focusing systems and when to use each of them in different situations effectively.
- Exposure – exposure explained in depth including the 3 elements of exposure (shutter speed, aperture and ISO) – how they work and how you can combine them in order to obtain the best exposures and effects (what visual effects you can obtain in your photographs using each of those functions).
- Depth of field – core aspects of the depth of field and how this effect is generated and controlled in order to achieve the subject separation from the background.
- Composition – the golden rules in composition and the composition elements – the approach, what makes a strong composition and what is the best approach on different situations / different types of subjects.
- Files and formats – different types of files that the camera can generate and what is the best option for you.
- Advice on what equipment to buy if needed.
- Camera maintenance and care – how to maintain your equipment in good conditions in different types of environments.

What you will need:

The Photography Course for Beginners will cover both Digital SLR (single lens reflex) and compact cameras. (If you do not currently own a camera you are still welcome to attend the course and use one of our spare semi-professional DSLR cameras.)
