Supersubmarina gate-crashed the party and made it theirs. They didn't plan on doing either but there's no getting away from the fact that that's how it's turned out: both the band itself and the music scene have gradually come to accept their heavyweight status. Their recent album release confirms it and their name currently features in almost every major Spanish festival line up. As is often the case, this is a story of persistence and talent, of a name doing the rounds to the extent that by the time the media found out about them, they were already filling the well-known La Riviera live music venue in Madrid several nights in a row. All after several years of tremendous hard work and obstacles overcome.

The quartet formed back in 2005 in Baeza, Jaen, and is led by Jose Chino. They started making a name for themselves on the Spanish indie rock scene with their first album 'Electroviral' (2010) and performed alongside five-star Spanish artists such as Vetusta Morla, Russian Red and Sidonie, ensuring epic live performances and winning the hearts of new converts wherever they played. Their natural connection with their fans was demonstrated once more with their second album 'Santacruz' (2012). In their own words, Supersubmarina reflect on the ups and downs of everyday life, achieving a mutual understanding with their ever-growing fan base - a fan base that sends them to the top of the charts, packs out their concerts and sings along in unison to every song when they perform live.

It's no wonder that their last album, 'Viento de cara' (2014), was treated like a big deal. Now that the media are on to them, the third album is sure to confirm that they are one of the most important bands of their generation on the new Spanish rock scene. Just as Vetusta Morla did, Supersubmarina have broken the mould and seem set to keep on doing just that.
