Family Wild Life Drawing: Halloween Special with Snakes, Spiders and Dragons

Wild Life Drawing is a drawing class with a difference. Instead of life models, the subjects are real animals. On Saturday 31st October, Wild Life Drawing will be hosting a special Halloween family drawing event at Somerset House, where you’ll get the chance to meet, draw and get over any lingering fears of snakes, spiders and bearded dragons. All these animals have a reputation for being a bit scary, but this class will aim to dissolve these myths and encourage appreciation and understanding for these fascinating creatures.

During the session, the class will be introduced to the animals with a short talk and everyone will able to study them closely. Both adults and children will be lead through a series of fun drawing exercises to start, focussing on each of the species and their unique characteristics. Throughout the class, everyone will be encouraged to use a variety of materials and drawing tutor Jennie Webber will be on hand for any artistic guidance. As well as drawing the snakes, spiders and bearded dragons, we will be learning about the differences in the way they hunt, feed and live, plus bringing to light any conservation issues affecting the species. Our reptile and insect experts are full of facts and will be ready and willing to answer any questions you might have. Pencils, paper and other drawing materials will all be provided as part of the class.
