In an epic journey from China via East Asia and Australia to England, British-Malaysian writer-performer Yang-May Ooi explores female empowerment and desirability through the oral histories of three generations of her family and the shoes in her life.
Yang-May uses the ancient Chinese tradition of footbinding experienced by her great-grandmother as a metaphor to investigate her search for her sexual identity.
This powerful, humorous and moving solo performance returns to the Tristan Bates Theatre after its sold-out showcase last year.
