Most people know the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but you won’t have experienced it like this before. In true Halloween style, Troxy London will host a unique film screening of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920) with live accompaniment from Europe’s largest and newly restored theatre pipe Wurlitzer organ.
East London’s independent venue, Troxy will host a one-off special event this Halloween on Sunday 1st November. For the first time in over 60 years, Europe’s largest Wurlitzer theatre organ, which has been restored at Troxy, will provide a full orchestral soundtrack to the classic silent film, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde (1920).
Nearly a century since the original screening, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde will provide the first opportunity for visitors to sit back and celebrate Halloween in its intended form - dark, dramatic and spooky, alongside the sounds from world renowned organist, Donald MacKenzie.
