'Root and Brunch' live gig at Victualler Wine Bar

Root and Branch brings together young(ish) folk musicians steeped like teabags in the traditional music of Scotland, England, Ireland, and North America. The band incorporates traditional music from all these places and more, covering everything from ten-minute trance-like interpretations of Appalachian old time to heart-breaking renditions of English workers' songs. And, of course, jigs, reels, polkas, and everything else you need to get your feet stamping and your back sweating. The interplay of musicians from different musical backgrounds combines with sensitive arrangements to give Root and Branch a unique sound that is fresh and contemporary whilst unmistakably traditional.
