A beautiful concert for remembrance and reflection, beginning with Allegri’s famous Miserere and ending with James MacMillan’s setting of the same words. The concert also features Howells’ Requiem, as well as contemporary works including Philip Moore’s Three Prayers of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Cecilia McDowall’s setting of words by World War One nurse Edith Cavell, Standing as I do before God.
