Following the success of last year’s concert, the European Doctors Orchestra is to make a return to Cadogan Hall to raise money for Royal Brompton Hospital.
The European Doctors Orchestra, was formed eleven years ago, and is drawn from over 300 members who are all doctors with different specialities from across Europe and beyond. The group play two charity concerts a year, this is the second year they will have played to support this well-known heart and lung hospital.
The concert will open with Richard Strauss’s sultry symphonic poem Don Juan which will be followed by Gustav Holst’s The Perfect Fool, in which the spirits of earth, water and fire are evoked.
The audience will also be treated to Symphonic Metamorphosis by Paul Hindemith, Samuel Barber’s much loved Violin Concerto (played by the brilliant soloist Boris Brovtsyn) and a work chosen by the BBC as ‘one of the 10 best classical pieces every child should hear before they are 10’ – Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite.
All money raised from the afternoon event will go to support the Royal Brompton Hospital’s SPRinT programme, training staff to provide better, safer patient care.
