Herrick Gallery presents artist Iain Nicholls in conversation with Phillip Allen discussing art and virtual reality, on the occasion of VEIL, a groundbreaking new virtual reality installation. Speaking on the hot topic of virtual reality, these two artists will discuss this new technology's potential impact on the art world.

VEIL is part of the Herrick Gallery’s current exhibition on view until November 21st, 2015. Using Oculus Rift technology, the innovative installation uses virtual reality (VR) technologies to transport visitors into an alternate reality where they can experience art in new and extraordinary ways, and in the process subvert the gallery experience.

VEIL is a site-specific piece that explores the concepts of recursion, alternate realities and space referencing the works of Diego Velazquez, Caspar David Fredriech, Hans Holbein and early pioneers of film and is a collaboration between the artist Iain Nicholls and creative technologist Tom Szirtes.
